Give Me Jesus

No pictures this post - but what a weekend. We spent all of Friday and Saturday helping our wonderful friends (Joe and Heather) turn our kid's ministry room at church into an underground cave for the new "Journey Below the Earth" series.....paper mache' and all. By Saturday night we were all exhausted. Before heading home, TJ suggested that we gather in a circle with our children and pray that the Lord would bless our entire church on Sunday morning. We prayed that every child who entered would be excited about God. Wow, did the Lord bless today!! The MBC kids ministry had an amazing turnout, and the sanctuary was packed this morning with adults to hear a guest speaker named Scott Smith. He spoke on losing sight of Jesus. It is so easy to become wrapped up in ministries, programs or service to the Lord. Those are all meaningless if we lose sight of The One we are serving. When all is said and done.....Give Me Jesus. My service to Him is then an overflow of that love for Him. If you have the volume turned up, the song should be playing: "Give Me Jesus". I pray He is everything we want or need.

Thanks for the post, Wendy! It is easy to lose focus....I have been trying to come back to the Lord even at lunch time and renew my thoughts that I had earlier during my morning devotions. It is so easy to let everything else crowd in and all of a sudden our focus is off of Jesus.

Thanks for the song and the reminder.
