2009 Vacation in North Carolina: July 26-Aug1

We enjoyed a great vacation this summer as a family, and we also enjoyed it with our friends, the Selvaggio family.

God blessed us along the way with many great memories. Since I use my blog somewhat as a journal too - I wanted to be sure I highlighted what we did each day.

Monday - Breakfast at Sunset Cafe' and a walk around downtown Franklin, NC; then 8 hrs of family fun at the FUN Factory.

Tuesday - Bryson City, NC: lunch at Everett Street Diner then an adventure in the Smoky Mountains (saw a bear near Juney Whank Falls and then went tubing down Deep Creek). On the way back we drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Absolutely beautiful!!

Wednesday - lunch at Fat Buddies BBQ; An afternoon in Highlands, NC enjoyed several beautiful waterfalls (especially Dry Falls!); An evening filled with stone collecting (made a memorial of God's goodness with the stones) and then a campfire with roasted marshmallows.

Thursday- Winston-Salem, NC: spent time with Jim and Sandra Pollard (PMBA director and his wife), drove around the city and then enjoyed dinner at Fuddrucker's.

Friday - Winston-Salem, NC: Treated to an awesome lunch by our friends at Confluence Coffee; enjoyed hanging out with the Yokeley and Wagoner families (fellow church planters in WS). Went to a cookout hosted by some of Joe and Heather's family. It was so good!

Saturday- enjoyed coffee from BrewNerds and Krispy Kreme doughnuts before heading back to Jacksonville; stopped for a tasty lunch at an all you can eat place called Little Pigs BBQ.

We are thankful for a wonderful vacation in a beautiful state! Looking forward to living there in the future. =)
