The other day I was talking with TJ's dad, and he reminded me of something that I will never forget. TJ's mom and dad lost a son a few years before TJ was born due to a genetic disorder similar to spinal atrophy. When TJ's mom became pregnant again, she was rightly concerned about being able to have a healthy baby and expressed this to both TJ's dad and her doctor. While her doctor offered to terminate the pregnancy (she said absolutely no), TJ's dad began to pray and ask God to give them another healthy son, on behalf of his sweet wife Lois. He told God that they would raise this son to live for God the best way they knew how.
Who knew he would grow up to serve Jesus as a pastor one day? God did....he heard that prayer as my father-in-law lifted it up so desperately. His mom and dad did a wonderful job raising him, and today, on my husband's birthday, I want to thank his parents for not ending the pregnancy and for raising him in a Christian home. I've been told he was a little spoiled growing up, but the good news is- he turned out just fine and boy, does he love Jesus!! (check out his blog:http://www.tjwardsblog.com/)
I'm including some memorabilia from his past and a current picture too.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TJ!
