Valentine's weekend in particular was very special, and since I love to blog with pictures, I will include some picture highlights down below.
We began the weekend early by having a special Valentine breakfast with the girls. This breakfast included small gifts and cherry turnovers just like my mom used to do.
Without writing the longest blog ever, I have to at least give you the 'blessings' highlight list:
- Upon arrival, we checked into our rooms and discovered that we each had a view of Historic Savannah (on the river) and the sun was setting in shades of pink, purple and blue behind it.
- We made friends with the concierge in the lobby, who set us up for a dinner at Savannah's Chart House. When we arrived, we discovered she really set us up to receive VIP treatment including a free dessert and another great view of the river!
- When we got back to our rooms, we had a Valentine package waiting, which included chocolate covered strawberries (courtesy of Daniel who buttered up to the reservationist when we first booked the hotel).
- TJ and I had trouble with the TV in our room, so we ended up calling the service desk. The poor repair guy made 3 trips over a couple of hours, while we sat there and watched him try to fix it! We knew he was there for a reason, so TJ talked to him about Christ on the last visit, and we had a great talk.
- The next morning, there was an envelope under the door with certificates for free breakfast for all 4 of us at the hotel's AquaStar restaurant. Once again, we had a view of the river while we were served a hot breakfast!
- We had a wonderful time on Saturday browsing through the shops in Savannah. Our Saturday highlight was getting to meet up with Becki and James for lunch at the Gryphon Tea Room (an old pharmacy renovated into a nice restaurant).
- On the way, home, Rebekah went over her Bible study lesson for Sunday with me. It was the perfect way to end the weekend as she described how she would use candy conversation heart lines (such as true love..be mine..hold my hand..sing to me) to share how Jesus offers those things in the truest form.
- Oh yeah - I cannot forget to share that even though there was an 80% chance of rain- it did NOT rain on us! Hallelujah - thank you Lord. :) You saw fit to bless us in ways we did not imagine!

Sounds like a great time- but I have to ask- weren't you getting a little sick of the view of the river by the end?!??! Just kidding! Great pictures!
Oh, sounds like a wonderful weekend! I'm so glad you guys got a chance to get away! Savannah looks so pretty. Oz told me about the possiblities of our trip there! :) Maybe next year.
Neat to see all of God's little blessings upon your weekend!
