There are definitely seasons where I am able to get on more often, but right now the season I feel that God has me in is resting and abiding. It would be easy to jump into the new year going a hundred miles an hour, but why? Yes, I still have a lot of responsibilities, but I am trying to be more in tune to hearing God's voice. I want to stop long enough and often enough to really hear Him. (John 10 - my sheep hear my voice)
If you follow TJ's blog at all, you know that we are participating in a 21 day fast called the 'Daniel Fast' with several of our family members. It started on January 10th and involves eating mostly fruits and vegetables, with several days of liquids only. We did this fast last year and prayed specifically about TJ going into the ministry in 2008. We know how that turned out. :) Fasting adds power to prayer that cannot be explained, except by God. It does not make me more spiritual, in fact it, makes me realize how very, very weak I am without Him.
We definitely have something specific we are praying about this year, and I look forward to seeing God do a miracle. He has already answered several prayer requests during this time, and I praise Him for it!
Last night, we invited a friend of ours named Caitlin to come over before she leaves for Kenya, Africa. She will be there for 3 months ministering to children in different areas. She also plans to coordinate a visit to our Compassion child (Ivonne). We are extremely excited about this possibility. We bought a baby doll as a gift and sent it with her to give to Ivonne. Our girls pray faithfully for Ivonne and love the idea that we could hug Caitlin and then she can go hug Ivonne for us!!
Here are a couple of pics of the girls with the doll and us with Caitlin. She has a copy of these pics to take to Ivonne as well. I'll also include a pic of Ivonne- she turned 4 on December 21st.
Looking forward to a great 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!

How sweet! Ivonne is a cutie!
Happy New year to you!
I pray through these next couple weeks you will find direction from the Lord for what you are praying for!
Love the update! I know God will answer your (our) prayers, just when and how is the miracle that we are waiting for.
Hope Caitlin has a wonderful visit in Kenya too, and that she is able to visit with Ivonne. That would be just another answer to prayer for you guys.
